Race Day!

Well, that was the theme at spinning this morning. Yep, I dragged myself out of bed this morning to go spin. I have the hardest time getting up at oh god early, but boy does it put me in a better frame of mind to start the morning! It was a good class today, was a little dodgy in the beginning, but after I got warmed up, I was off and away.

Getting home was a little more interesting, after fishtailing while going around a corner, I decided I needed to take it easy - but there was someone behind me that insisted driving on my bumper. What makes people turn into idiots in bad weather? So I make it home, walk across the street to my front walk, step up the curb, and immediately I slipped and fell on my knees and an elbow. Nice. Hurt like a bitch. Went in the house and cried to my husband, then sat on the bed all sweaty with ice on my knees and my elbow for about 20 minutes. At least they do feel better! And I hope they continue to feel okay, since I am planning on doing a 5K race tomorrow morning.

Last night, after getting home from driving over the state of Minnesota, I went to a taste test where they had us try some "salty" snacks. They said not to talk about what we ate outside of the room, but I have to say, rosemary would not be my flavor of choice when picking out snack crackers. The last sample was completely awful, not only did they taste weird at first, but then they dissolved into a paste-like substance in my mouth that had absolutely no taste... I was still trying to get the residue out of my molars 15 minutes later. Blek.

And the good news is, the escrow on our house is finally closed! It only took 19 months, but we got the remainder of the money back yesterday. Yay! Just in time for us to go on vacation. Gotta love that timing. I am still pissed off at the stupid Title insurance company that said they were not going to cover the issue - clearly they should have, becuase there was no record of an easement agreement with the old house.... and if you do not have "vehicular access" to the house, that is one of the things that the policy stated that it covered. Bastards.

So after the taste test, I was on the way to the bank with my taste test money, and that check, and figured out that I was going to go right past the library. I checked out 5 books, and got to spend some quality time with them last night - Eric was at a fishing seminar. And, they should cover me until we leave on the cruise, and I got a couple that are going with me too. Eric and I were at Barnes and Noble the other night, and instead of purchasing, I wrote down some titles, and I found a couple at the library. Who would have thought I was miss frugal when it came to books!

It has actually been a good week, WW-wise. I have journaled every day, eaten my dairy, for the most part have eaten my veggies, and gotten plenty of water. The scale did reward me this morning by reading 176. Yep, it did! So I am almost at my mini-goal for my cruise, which was to have the scale read 175 at home. I am planning on going to weigh in today again, since I have the race tomorrow morning. Exercise has been another matter - I ran on Saturday, swam (about 1.25 miles) on Wednesday, and went spinning this morning. Next week I hope to do more.

And I am wearing a size 12 skirt this morning, will wonders never cease!

Make it great!

Good luck at your 5K tomorrow... I assume that I WON'T see you at Corky's meeting?
